Mini Rugby Final Day
The Carrick U10 team traveled to Clonmel on Good Friday morning for annual East Munster Blitz. They played 3 and won 3. First up was Kilkenny which Carrick won 5-0,they then beat a strong Galbally team 3-2 and finally they had a narrow 3-2 win against Clonmel.
The under 12's then travelled up to Clonmel on Easter Saturday for their annual blitz. They performed very well against tougher opposition. They beat Cashel but lost to Galbally and Waterpark. Well done to all involved and good luck to the under 12s as they move to the full fifteen a side game next season as under 13s.
On a fabulous sunny morning last Sunday April 1st in Tybroughney the Carrick Minis season came to a close. It was the last day of a great season that saw record numbers playing minis rugby. During the season the teams travelled all around East Munster, including trips to Clanwilliam, Galbally and Dungarvan, had some great victories and
lots of fun along the way. Minis Officer Donal Moriarty wishes to thank the players and parents for their efforts throughout the year. Thanks also to Club President Mick Hickey and all the committee for their support. Great work was also done by Viveanne Bourke who coordinated the catering for home blitz days and Siobhan Moriarty for all the secretarial work and for keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Well done to all the coaches for their tireless work and commitment. The highlight of our final day was the arrival of 1st team captain Michael Carroll to show the players the Munster Junior League Trophy which was won last week. Michael presented medals to the players and congratulated them on their great season. See you all back in Tybroughney next September 9th 2012.
